Free-to-play progress in Lands of Jail starts with a goal you can reach using the resources you earn. Pick a building unlock, a research requirement or a useful upgrade for your main formation. Write down the materials, prerequisites and time it needs. Keep useful queues moving while you save for the larger step.

🧩 Spend scarce items on a job you can name
Build one formation you use often. Before spending shared hero shards or equipment materials, check the next useful threshold and whether you can reach it. Keep a Diamond reserve for a specific purchase and use speedups when finishing early lets you start another useful step or meet an event deadline.
Hypothetical example: You can finish a prerequisite today, but the target upgrade still needs materials you cannot collect until tomorrow. Let the prerequisite run if the timer fits. Save the speedups for the point where time is actually blocking your progress.
🏆 Choose how far to go in an event

Check what action scores and when the stage ends. Claim earned rewards before the deadline shown in the game. Look for current redemption codes, and check whether each code still works for your account.
🤝 Fit the alliance into your routine
Choose an alliance whose activity times work for you. Ask what role you can cover with the troops and heroes you have. Joining a rally as requested, reinforcing an assigned position or relaying useful map information can help the team while you build your account.
Review the week by asking whether you reached the planned upgrade and what is still blocking the next one. Update your reserve based on that answer.
